Tom Brady

Looks like the biggest D-bag on the sidelines. I really don’t care for him.

I’ll attribute this post to my final weeks of pregnancy.

Feeling low?

Visit The Home Depot. This is a serious recommendation. Those employees just love themselves a pregnant woman. Maybe a feminine woman is almost like a guest appearance in that store; however, the lady employees of THD are so quick to throw a compliment your way if you waddle through with a baby belly.

Moving on, we have 15 days to go! When people know this, they soon ask, “Are you ready?” Bad question to ask if you’re expecting a 2-5 word response from me. I’ll explain…

  • How can one ever be “ready” to push a small human through something even smaller?
  • Our second floor is serving as Ryan’s tool box as he dismantles the bathroom. He is deserving of a reward. I might even contact the local news station or place an announcement in the paper–his diligence is beyond mystifying. He’s been remodeling the bathroom for almost 4 weeks & has encountered a bevy of obstacles, yet none managed to deter him from this massive project. I’m so proud of him.
  • In conjunction with that last bullet point, Lucy’s room is somewhat chaotic. It’s not finished (we still need to buy & apply her wall decal), but I’m not going to fret. Checking out & evaluating my nursery was not my first objective as a small human; pretty sure all I cared to do was have a constant food supply, a clean diaper, someone to cuddle/adore me.
  • Also in conjunction with that second bullet point, many of her gifts & baby items are fixtures of our living room. With the second floor being in shambles, I am ┬ánot in a hurry to put them away.

There you go. I’d say we’re ready. We’re ready to love our little girl, give her plenty of kisses, and treat her like origami as we practice our swaddling techniques.

PS: Happy Thxgiving.

Hollywood, Ohio

October 30th was the date of baby shower #2–hosted by mother, Denise. My husband graciously drove me 3.5 hours to meet my mom @ the first Ohio exit en route from Rochester. From there, I saddled in the tour bus (she drives an obnoxiously-sized vehicle) while hearing how “big” I looked. Fast forward to Saturday morning, my mom & I picked up our favors (Halloween goody boxes complete with glo-stick bracelets) & worked to finalize the most important part of the event–our costumes.

As you may recall from the previous post, the theme of the shower was “Celebrity/Famous Moms”. Truthfully, it was a perfect theme & our guests (most of them) obliged our request to adorn a costume suitable for the theme. Lucy & I were overwhelmed by the many celebrities present at the party!

Mother Earth was greeted by Katie Holmes (she said that Tom prefers "Kate"), Carol Brady (still looking good), & Elin Woods (seems likes she's in a good place)

Vanna came & brought a special puzzle for us to solve!

Mother Goose came & brought Grammy!

We received a fantastic assortment of gifts

Thank you to everyone who attended our showers–it was such a treat to celebrate Lulu with friends & family.

We have 3 weeks & 6 days left. I’m consistently amused by those who predict the date of her arrival. Sally (Ry’s mom) asked her to come the other day. If you consult our families, they think we’ll have a turkey baby. If you ask my friend Tondra, Lucy was coming last month. And Trisha, a friend from Roc Prep, has a “feeling” about next week. We’ll be sure you know when she decides to make her debut.
